Perform Ability started when a beautiful young girl with hearing impairments and Down Syndrome, enrolled into Centre Stage Performing Arts in 2009. Her presence made every class rewarding and she absolutely lit up the stage at her end of year concert. Her mother mentioned to the principal that there were no dance programs around for people with disabilities… well that soon changed! The principal of Centre Stage Performing Arts, Miranda Daisy, founded Perform Ability in 2010. We now have over 20 classes running in many locations throughout Newcastle, the Central Coast and Sydney, with more than 120 students attending each week! Our Mission is to make Perform Ability a national and international program, bringing the joy of music and dance to people everywhere!
